The Challenge
St Paul’s Market food hall in Birmingham city centre was days from its grand opening, leaving tight deadlines and no margin for error. The goal was clear: ensure a new 63mm water service connection was installed, tested, and operational before opening day.
Our Approach
USP installed, tested, and commissioned a 63mm water service connection to the brand new food hall venue with full compliance, quality, and timely delivery.
Installation
Successfully installed 10 metres of open cut, 63mm water service pipe, connecting the new food hall to the mains supply.
Testing and Compliance
Completed extensive testing, chlorination, and auditing processes. Compliance reviews by LRQA and the local authority found no issues across all inspections.
Stakeholder Coordination
Relationship management with the local authority allowed for an earlier start time to help meet the tight deadline, proving that strong working relationships make a real difference.
Project Management
Provided comprehensive staffing with trained operatives and a dedicated Project Manager to oversee stakeholder engagement and maintain full compliance with CDM and NRSWA regulations.
The Results
The project was completed successfully and ahead of time. All compliance requirements were met, earning high praise from the client and stakeholders. The food hall opened on schedule with a fully operational water supply.
